Correct measurement and interpretation
Measurement is taken in the morning (07:00-10:00), ideally on two different days when the first value is low. Interpretation always takes symptoms into account.
Primary and secondary hypogonadism
Low testosterone with high LH/FSH indicates primary hypogonadism, while low or normal LH/FSH indicates secondary hypogonadism and requires further work-up.
Low probability
Normal repeated morning values without compatible symptoms.
Borderline picture
Borderline values with unclear symptoms, requiring re-evaluation.
High probability
Compatible symptoms with repeatedly low values.
