Da Vinci X – 4th-Generation Robotic Surgery

The 4th-generation Da Vinci X robotic system is installed in the operating theatres of LEFKOS STAVROS – The Athens Clinic. It provides three-dimensional, high-definition visualisation of the surgical field, with magnification of up to 15 times.

The robotic arms feature an articulated design (7 directions of movement, 540-degree range) that mimics the movement of the human wrist, offering greater flexibility and stability compared with conventional surgery.

The surgeon controls the system in real time from a dedicated console, without direct contact with the patient. The robot does not operate autonomously β€” every movement is guided by the surgeon.

Edge Medical – Multi-Port Robotic System

The Edge robotic system is installed at LEFKOS STAVROS – The Athens Clinic and has been used in urological procedures, representing an additional modern robotic platform available at the clinic's Urology Centre.

In 2026, the Edge system was used at LEFKOS STAVROS to perform Greece's first robotic telesurgery procedure (radical prostatectomy), with the operating surgeon located remotely in Wuhan, China β€” a milestone for international robotic surgery and telemedicine.

3D / 4K Laparoscopic Imaging

The Laparoscopic Urology Unit at LEFKOS STAVROS is equipped with modern three-dimensional (3D) imaging technology displayed on ultra-high-definition (4K) screens.

3D visualisation restores the depth perception provided by natural vision, which conventional two-dimensional (2D) laparoscopy does not offer, while 4K resolution allows clearer distinction of anatomical structures during surgery.

Unlike robotic surgery, the 3D laparoscopic technique does not use a robotic interface β€” the surgeon directly manipulates the laparoscopic instruments.
