A ureterocele is a congenital (present at birth) abnormality in which the distal end of the ureter, the tube that carries urine from the kidney to the bladder, balloons or balloons out into the bladder. This bulging or pouch-like structure can obstruct the flow of urine from the ureter into the bladder and, in some cases, cause other complications.
